Trailers as Multi-modal Texts
Film trailers are excellent examples of multimodal texts as they make meaning through a powerful combination of different modes of communication:
- written text on screen
- spoken language
- moving images
- music
- sound effects
The Great Gatsby text/font is a good example as it clear connects to the time the film is set as does the sound in the trailer.
Select a trailer and complete the table. Make sure your blog post is titled the same as this one and that you define the concept mutlimodal.
