Trailers as Multi-modal Texts

Film trailers are excellent examples of multimodal texts as they make meaning through a powerful combination of different modes of communication:
  • written text on screen
  • spoken language
  • moving images
  • music
  • sound effects
The Great Gatsby text/font is a good example as it clear connects to the time the film is set as does the sound in the trailer.

You need to consider how these features of multimodal texts work together to create and reinforce meaning for the audience.

Select a trailer and complete the table. Make sure your blog post is titled the same as this one and that you define the concept mutlimodal.

TITLE OF FILM:
